Smart home gadgets are revolutionizing the way we use our homes. We can have virtual digital assistants to time things, and answer questions, we can control lighting and appliances remotely with our phones, and so much more.

This month on CTV Tech Talk we looked at some super smart devices for your home.

Dyson Pure Cool Fan and Purifier

dyson pure cool hepa air purifier fan review worth itIt’s been a hot summer. If you don’t have air conditioning, you know what a struggle it can be to keep cool on hot days and nights. Dyson Pure Cool HEPA Air Purifier & Fan is a pricey option, so is it worth it? I had a chance to test out this fan and purifier for a few weeks in my home.

This powerful fan is also a way to purify the air,  particularly handy with all the smoke that’s been in the air lately.

The Dyson Pure Cool Purifier and Fan has:

New LCD screen: continuously monitors indoor air quality and displays real-time reports

There’s two airflow modes:  forward airflow mode cools you as a fan with purified air and backward airflow mode acts as a purification-only mode – purifying and circulating air throughout the room without cooling you .

It’s got much wider oscillation: It can oscillate up to 350°, allows you to project air at almost any angle within the room, as well as customizable angles using the Dyson Link app. You can set how wide a sweep it will make in the app. Choose static, 45 degrees, 90, 180 or 350.

Read the details in this Dyson Pure Cool purifier and fan review.

Apple HomePod

Apple may be late to the personal digital assistant-speaker game, but they wait has been worth it for some. The sleek and sexy looking speaker has amazing sound quality, and you can ask Siri to take care of a lot of tasks for you.

Nanoleaf Aurora, Remote and Rhythm

Nanoleaf makes the most amazing lighting panels that look like nothing else. New to the lineup is the Remote, a 3D remote control that will change the colours of your panels depending which way you turn it. Coupled with the Rhythm Module, you can have the lights pulse to the beat of the music from the Apple Home Pod. It works great and looks amazing in your home.
