A Robot floor-cleaning duo

You’re no doubt familiar with iRobot Roomba’s vacuum, and maybe you’ve even heard about their mops. Now iRobot has combined the forces of this due to create a powerhouse homekeeping team. The new Roomba s9+ with Clean Base Automatic Dirt Disposal now cleans in partnership with the iRobot Braava jet m6 mop, meaning you tell them to clean the floors and they’ll talk to each other so that your floor is first swept, then mopped; all automatically, and all controlled and monitored from your smartphone or personal digital assistant like Google or Alexa.

Meet the team: The new Roomba s9+ with Clean Base Automatic Dirt Disposal

The new Roomba s9+ with Clean Base Automatic Dirt Disposal is a smartphone controlled robot vacuum with a dust bin which is specifically called the Clean Base Automatic Dirt Disposal. The vacuum will clean all over your house, recharge itself when necessary, and empty its onboard dust bin when its full, then go back out and clean some more.

Meet the team: The new iRobot Braava jet m6 mopping robot

The m6 is a fully rechargeable, automated, smartphone connected mop and base station. You can choose disposable cleaning pads, or, and this is a new feature many folks have been asking for, iRobot also makes washable, reusable pads too. The m6 mop will also handle dry sweeping, kind of like using a swiffer. Depending which pads you attach, the robot automatically knows what to do.

Smart, remote controlled heater: Dyson Pure Hot + Cool Link

As chilly winter weather approaches, we all want to keep toasty, but at the same time, closed windows can keep stale air in, leading to allergies and impure air. The answer to all these issues is a Dyson Pure Hot + Cool Link fan, heater & air purifier and you can read my review of the Dyson Pure Hot + Cool Link here.

The Dyson Pure Hot+Cool Link is a multi purpose heating and cooling device. It’s a fan, heater, and air purifier all built into one tall narrow cylinder-shaped device. The major difference in this device from all other fans and heaters is that it has no blade.

It’s got an included remote which will stick to the top of the fan unit with magnets, meaning it’s always going to be findable when you need it so long as you remember to put it back. The remote turns the fan on and off, allows you to control the level of airflow, can change exactly how the air gets blown into the room, using “focused mode” it’s also got buttons to change it from heat to cool, to turn oscillation on and off, and to set a sleep timer or at night Mode. More on those later. You can also download the Dyson Link app on iOS or Android. Using the app gives you a few additional features.

Any smart home also needs a smart digital assistant. A Google Nest Hub or new Google nest Mini can help you take control of all your devices, plus get answers to questions, manage your schedule and play music too! Read my review of the Google Home Hub here and watch for the full review of the Nest Mini in the next weeks.
